ISLAMIC RELIEF MALAYSIA DELIVER ITS FIRST `RAMADHAN’S FEED THE FASTING 2008` FOOD PACKAGES TO THE POOR
Rawang 24 Ogos 2008 - Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) has carried out its first distribution of Ramadhan “Feed The Fasting” 2008 food packages to the poor in Malaysia in a simple ceremony at Kg Koskan, Sungai Choh, Rawang and Perkampungan Orang Asli Bukit Manchong, Bukit Beruntung, Selangor today.
This first ever distribution in Malaysia was officiated by Batang Kali State Assemblyman YB Mohamad Isa Abu Kasim in a simple ceremony held at one of the beneficiary’s house in Kg Koskan, Sungai Choh, Rawang. During the ceremony, 100 beneficiaries from Kg Koskan received food package consisted of rice,flour,sugar,cooking oil, canned food to ease their burden during the holy month of Ramadhan. Later, at Perkampungan Orang Asli Kg Bukit Manchong, 100 beneficiaries from orang asli community received food packages from IRM Project Manager, Mr Farouq Zauji.
According to Mr. Farouq Zauji,
“For a mere minimum contribution of RM50 from the public, we will deliver food package to a poor family during Ramadhan and we are hoping to reach out to 10,000 beneficiaries across Malaysia through this program”.
Islamic Relief’s “Ramadhan Feed The Fasting” is an annual seasonal program carried out by Islamic Relief office worldwide to ease the burden of the world poorest population during Ramadhan reaching out to more than 800,000 beneficiaries in 26 countries across the world.
