ISLAMIC RELIEF MALAYSIA'S FIRST LIBRARY PROJECT
6 Sept 2008- Chemor Perak. In conjuction with Ramadhan's Feed The Fasting Program 2008, Islamic Relief Malaysia has launched it's first 'Orphanage Library Funding Program' today. The first project is held at Rumah Yayasan Amanah An-Nur Maisarah, Chemor, Perak.
The first project organized by Islamic Relief Malaysia is intended for orphans' long term education fullfillment through high quality reading materials. This project is done based on the belief in the importance of individuals intelectual development. The Project Manager, Mr. Iskandar Syah Ismail states that "Other than financial support, We believe that the moral support is equally important to the children. We want to educate the orphans by creating a reading culture through the library facility. Hopefully, this project would build them up mentally and spiritually so they can be a better person in the future."
Through this program, Islamic Relief Malaysia had donated more than 1,000 unit of English and Bahasa Malaysia books, completed with book shelves and other equipments which amount estimated at RM13,000 based on the fund raised from individuals and corporate donations.
Islamic Relief Malaysia would like to thank the fellow donors and volunteers who gave the full support in the implementation of this project.
