Kuala Terengganu, 08th January 2009- Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) with cooperation with Pertima Trengganu Sdn.Bhd. have organized a press conference `Delivery of Qurbani meat to Gaza` at Chendering, Kuala Terengganu, Terengganu, today.The event was officiated by International Trade and Industry, YAB Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin. Also present at the event was Islamic Relief Malaysia Berhad Country Manager, Encik Zawahir Che Abdullah, Datuk Suhaimi Ibrahim, Chairman of Yayasan Belia Malaysia (YBM) and The Chairman of Pertima Trengganu Sdn.Bhd.,Y.B. Dato’ Hj Rosli Bin Mat Hassan.

 
In this event, a total of 1,560 cartons which consist of 18 tonnes of Qurbani canned processed meat will be delivered to Gaza today. According to Mr. Zawahir, The Country Manager of Islamic Relief Malaysia, the delivery was originally scheduled to be delivered at the end of January 2009.

However, due to current humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the delivery is rescheduled earlier. The aid will be send to the people of Gaza through Islamic Relief field office in Palestine that has been operating for 11 years in Gaza. Mr. Zawahir also added that since the Gaza invasion, Islamic Relief had been delivering humanitarian aid amounted at RM 1.7 million inclusive of food supplies, medicines, medical equipments and other additional aid as an emergency relief in Gaza.
