Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) merupakan sebuah agensi bantuan kemanusiaan dan pembangunan antarabangsa yang mempunyai status perundingan Bangsa-bangsa Bersatu dan beribu pejabat di Birmingham UK. Badan ini telah mendapat pengiktirafan status Konsultatif Istimewa oleh Economic & Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), ahli kepada Disaster  Emergency Committee UK(DEC) dan British Overseas NGO for Development (BOND) dan penandatangan kepada The Code of Condusct for the International Red Cross & Red Crescent Movement and NGO’s in Disaster Relief. Atas keprihatinan terhadap mangsa gempa bumi di Sumatera Barat sempena musim perayaan ini, pihak Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) turut melanjutkan pengedaran pek makanan  `Bantuan Aidilfitri’  yang mengandungi makanan keperluan harian seperti beras, gula, garam, susu, tepung, minyak masak, sardin dan sebaginya kepada mangsa gempa bumi di sana. Sehubungan itu, pasukan misi `Kemanusiaan’ Islamic Relief Malaysia yang di ketuai oleh En.Iskandar Syah Ismail (Ketua Pembangunan Dana,IRM) bersama 2 orang sukarelawan telah dikerah ke Sumatera Barat serta-merta bagi menyertai misi Islamic Relief Indonesia yang telah pun memulakan bantuan kemanusiaan sebaik sahaja bencana itu berlaku. Untuk makluman, Islamic Relief telah beroperasi di Indonesia melalui dua cawangannya di Jakarta & Acheh semenjak 5 tahun yang lalu dan masih lagi giat beroperasi di Acheh sehingga kini melalui program pembangunan semula acheh. Rakan-rakan media sangat dialu-alukan membuat liputan dan berkerjasama dengan IRM dalam menjayakan misi murni ini. Islamic Relief Malaysia (IRM) is a humanitarian aid development agency, non government organization (NGO) with the head office located in Birmingham, United Kingdom. With 25 years experience of implementing humanitarian program all over the world, Islamic Relief hold a various status in the international humanitarian field including a consultative status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations (ECOSOC), member of Disaster Emergency Committee UK(DEC) and British Overseas NGO for Development (BOND) and is a signatory to the Code of Conduct for the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Moments and NGO’s Disaster Relief.
Understanding the burden and suffering of the earthquake victims in West Sumatra in this festive Aidilfitri season, IRM had decided to extend its Eid Gift distribution of food packages to the victims in the affected region. Eid Gift food packages contains with basic food including rice, sugar, flour, canned food and other basic food with hope to ease the burden of the victims.
The humanitarian mission from IRM is led by Mr. Iskandar Syah Ismail, IRM Head of Fundraising accompanied by 2 volunteers was immediately sent to Sumatera in order to participate with the team from Islamic Relief Indonesia that had started their emergency humanitarian relief the moment the disaster happened. Â
For reference, Islamic Relief had been operated in Indonesia since the past 5 years through its two main field office in Jakarta and Acheh. Islamic Relief is still currently implementing its humanitarian recovery and development plan in Acheh.
